Share and talk about your battle axes, thunder boomers, etc. (Guitars, basses, drums, amps, interfaces, mics and the like).
My main axe right now is an old Samick Warlock from 1990. I replaced the bridge pickup with a GFS Crunchy Pat, and as soon as I get money, I plan to replace the Floyd knockoff with an actual FR trem. One of the coolest things about it is the yellowe crackle finish it has, it looks like fucking lightning is coursing through the fucker, transmitting electrifying tasty licks and thundering riffolas. I also have a cherry red 1984 Kramer Focus 3000, with an original german floyd! For the 280$ I paid for it, the fucker was pretty mint too. What I love the most about it is that the bridge isn't recessed. That means if I break a string, I don't have to worry about balancing the piece of shit, which is one of the more frustrating things in the FR trem system. I also have a red 1985 Ibanez DT350 Destroyer, one of the star models. That guitar is fucking awesome, plus the fact that Mike Sifringer from Destruction used one for Infernal Overkill, the neck is STUPID fast, to the point where I wanna take my Warlock to a Luthier just he can sand down the neck to make it as fast as the Destroyer. The one drawback in it is that it's a little uncomfortable to reach the 22nd fret, and the Pro Rokr bridge needs some parts replaced as the fucker, even though if it never hold tune very well before, is becoming quite HEINOUS on the fucking G string (nice). When I got that Destroyer about 4 years ago, the origina bridge pickup seemed like it was manually split by the dumb ass who had the instrument before me because he wanted a gay ass "tele sound". I was stuck with that hack pickup job until recently, where I got to buy a GFS Power Rails for her. She sounds fucking DELICIOUS now, also I had the guitar signed by Dagon from Inquisition when I saw them live bout 3 years ago, good shit. My last guitar is a 1983 Aria Pro II ZZ Deluxe with a Turquoseburst finish, basically a cool looking 80's style explorer. It's got an aftermarket Kahler trem system, shit's awesome, a bit like Floyds in some parts, but it feels a lot different and a lot fucking smoother. I also got 2 basses, one cheap chinese p bass copy and a Greco EB copy from the 70's I borrowed from a friend which is fucking AWESOME. I'm planning to get an Aria ZZ bass in the future.
As for amps, I'm a Peavey guy, mostly because it's the most common, cheapest, and dependable shit where I live. I got a Peavey Musician MkIII half stack, a Rage 158 for practice, and 2 Bandits, a silver stripe that mostly works and a red stripe which needs work. I plan to fix the red stripe so I can have a stereo setup live, mostly to put a harmonizer on the red stripe so I can do Iron Maiden style leads without a second guitarist, because finding competent metal musicians with an ear for the oldschool is not easy where I live. I've no interface yet but I'm planning to get a Focusrite Scarlett and 2 SM57s.
So what have you guys got?
