Rules and Suggestions for Good Conduct

Be kind and supportive
This is a forum for beginners and veterans alike, there are bound to be differences in abilities, experience, equipment etc. so please keep this in mind when communicating with others. Acts of kindness such as offering constructive feedback, encouragement and positive exchange of ideas are definitely welcome.
No flaming, trolling, hate speech etc.
None of the above will be tolerated at all, by anyone. If a post, thread, comment, upload etc is made with the intention to cause harm to others, it will be taken down immediately. Depending on the severity of the incident, the member(s) involved may be suspended or banned. The final say is up to the moderators. Any issues with this rule must be concluded via PM in order to keep the peace.
Serious and sensitive content
While this forum is primarily for music production, we understand that users like to get to know each other and share other aspects of their lives. Sensitive content is therefore allowed, but please explain this in the thread title. For example, if you're positing a political thread, please put [political] in the title. If the thread contains adult content, please put [18+]. Other suggestions include but are not limited to: [Serious], [Religion], [Foxes].
Necroposting
Feel free to post in old threads, just use common sense here.
Back Seat Moderating
Moderating a forum of people from all around the world is not an easy task and moderators do their best. It's emotionally charged at best and sometimes even impossible to satisfy everyone's needs so let's help the mods (and admins!) out by respecting their decisions and being polite.
Spamming & Advertising
Advertising your own music is allowed within reason. You can post links to your work on your profile or to use as an example to demonstrate a point you are trying to make but in this case a time stamp would help prove you're not just advertising.
Self advertising threads are allowed in the appropriate boards.
Spamming links to your work where it is deemed inappropriate by any member of staff will result in a warning. If it persists you will face harsher consequences.
Actual spam (bots etc) will obviously result in banning.
Off-topic Discussion/Hijacking
Please try to remain on-topic. Too much off-topic discussion may result in a moderator splitting the thread which is confusing at best...
Hacking/Phishing
Don't be an idiot. Also we can probably find out who you are through moderation tools.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is, at best, morally reprehensible, at worst, a punishable offence. We will not tolerate it on our forum.
Member Account Responsibilities
Offensive usernames are allowed within reason, but don't push it. Your personal space is your own to do with as you please but also consider that moderators can and will delete offensive content there, too.
Multiple Accounts/Impersonations
If this is suspected, proof that you are different people will be required.
