Hello there, im banana head from newgrounds but you can call me nothingface, its the name i go with on most sites now. So this should be a introducition thread for myself, but i kinda already made one on newgrounds audio forum here, it has more info about me and a quick brief of the songs ive made to the site. Basically, im a 20yo amateur musician from brazil, i use a Ibanez RG Series 370 and a blackstar id core amp, which recently got stuck on the clean channel and i cant change it anymore for some reason, but its a good amp, good thing i still have a fuzz pedal if i want distortion. My main genre is metal, mostly its extreme subgenres, hardcore punk, blues, some jazz and recently ive been trying my hand at synthwave and mathrock, even did a EP for each genre but thats for the bandcamp thread. I use Reaper, pluging my amp into a focusrite scarlet for when im using my amp with the fuzz pedal, and pluging my guitar directly into the interface when im going to use a distortion vst instead. I have no idea of what im doing when it comes to mixing and mastering, listen to my stuff and that'll be obvious lol, reason why i tag all my songs with ''lo fi'', its a euphemism for ''hey, this sounds like shit'', so if anyone can help me with mixing tips i'd apreciate that.

Welcome! I also use REAPER, love it. Great for recording. Which genres of metal in particular do you like? I tend to like melodic death metal and symphonic power metal, myself. Scar Symmetry, Soilwork / Angra, Blind Guardian. That kind of thing.
Feel free to ask any questions about mixing, I will always be happy to help!

Mostly Traditional/Speed, Thrash, Death, Black, Stoner/Doom/Sludge So im more inclined to the extreme metal subgenres, stuff like Death, Slayer, Necrophagist, Demilich, Judas Priest, Riot, Crowbar, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Toxic Holocaust, Sarcofago, Mgla, Inquisition, etc
So my question about mixing would be... pretty much everything lol, how to mix guitars, drums and bass

Ooooh I do love Judas Priest. Hahaha no worries about the mixing. Open a thread and share a track you want feedback on. metalworkshop.boards.net/board/8/mixingThere are already 2 threads there about mixing guitars and bass, too. Feel free to have a read and share your own process, maybe we can learn from each other.
